A honeycomb bong is a water pipe that uses a flat disc percolator filled with dozens of small, evenly spaced holes arranged in a honeycomb pattern. When you draw, smoke passes through these holes into the water and breaks into hundreds of tiny bubbles.

More bubbles means more contact between smoke and water, resulting in better filtration, more cooling, and a noticeably smoother, cleaner hit compared to a standard bong.

Smoke is drawn downward through the honeycomb disc’s precision-cut holes into the water below. Each hole produces a stream of bubbles — because the holes are small and numerous, the result is hundreds of fine bubbles working simultaneously.

Each bubble is a contact point between smoke and water. The more contact, the more heat is absorbed and the more particulates are filtered out. The honeycomb design is especially efficient because it spans the entire diameter of the tube, meaning there are no bypass channels — all smoke goes through the water every time.

Single honeycomb: One percolator disc. Excellent filtration for everyday use — smooth, clean hits with minimal drag. Great starting point for any smoker.

Double honeycomb: Two stacked discs. Smoke goes through two full rounds of bubble filtration. Hits are noticeably smoother and cooler, making it ideal for smokers who prioritise maximum filtration.

Triple honeycomb: Three discs. The ultimate in filtration — often combined with an ice catcher for hits that are incredibly smooth and cold.

For first-time bong users, we recommend an 8–10 inch single honeycomb disc bong with a 14mm joint. These pieces are:

Bowl size is determined by the joint size of your bong. Most honeycomb bongs use a 14mm female joint and require a 14mm male bowl. Larger pieces (typically 16 inches and above) often use an 18mm female joint requiring an 18mm male bowl.

We list the joint size in every product’s specifications so there is never any guesswork. If you are unsure, the joint size is always clearly stated under “Specifications” on the product page.

Honeycomb perc: Flat disc with many holes. Covers the full tube diameter, zero bypass, maximum filtration with minimal drag. Best all-round choice.

Tree perc: Multiple vertical arms, each with slits. Slows bubble travel for extended water contact and extra cooling. Great for large, smooth pulls.

Inline perc: Horizontal tube with slits, sits at the base. Delivers instant, efficient diffusion the moment you start drawing — very low drag.

Bongs are designed for dry herb. They tend to be taller (8–16 inches) with larger chambers to allow smoke to cool over distance. They typically come with a bowl for packing herb.

Dab rigs are designed for concentrates and oils. They are shorter (6–10 inches) with a tighter vapor path to preserve the flavour and potency of concentrates. They use a nail or banger instead of a herb bowl.

Glass thickness refers to the wall width, measured in millimetres. Most quality bongs range from 3mm (standard) to 7mm (thick). Thicker glass means more durability, better heat resistance, and a more substantial feel in the hand.

We carry pieces from 3mm up to 7mm borosilicate glass. All borosilicate glass is heat-resistant and designed for repeated heating cycles, but thicker walls simply hold up better to the realities of daily use.

A recycler bong continuously cycles water and vapor through the percolator via a dedicated return tube. After passing through the percolator, water is drawn back down through the return tube to repeat the filtration process throughout your entire pull.

The result is an uninterrupted, constantly refreshing bubble stack that produces exceptionally smooth, cool, and flavorful hits — especially popular for concentrate use in dab rigs.

An ice catcher is a set of glass notches inside the tube that hold ice cubes above the water chamber. As smoke travels up through the tube, it passes over or around the ice, dropping in temperature before reaching your lips.

Combined with a honeycomb percolator, ice catchers produce remarkably cold, smooth hits. Simply drop 2–3 ice cubes into the tube until they rest on the notches. Replace as they melt during your session.

Orders

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking number. Click the link in the email to track your package in real time.

If you haven’t received a tracking email within 2 business days of ordering, check your spam folder first, then contact us with your order number.

Orders can be cancelled or modified within 12 hours of being placed, provided they have not yet been packed for shipment. Email us immediately at support@honeycombbongs.com with your order number.

If your order has already shipped, you will need to follow our standard return process once it arrives.

We sincerely apologise. Please email support@honeycombbongs.com with your order number and a photo of what you received. We will send the correct item immediately at no additional cost and arrange a return label for the incorrect piece.

Take clear photos of the damage and the outer packaging before doing anything else. Then contact us within 48 hours of delivery at support@honeycombbongs.com with:

  • Your order number
  • Clear photos of the damaged item
  • Photos of the outer packaging

We will send a free replacement or issue a full refund — your choice. We cover all shipping costs for damaged item returns.

Check your spam or junk folder first — our emails occasionally get filtered. If it’s not there, ensure the email address you entered at checkout was correct.

If you still can’t find it, email us and we will confirm your order and resend the confirmation.

Restock timelines vary by product and brand. The best way to be notified the moment a product is back is to join our early access email list — we send restock alerts exclusively to subscribers before announcing publicly.

Yes — free US shipping on all orders over $50. Express and priority shipping options are available at checkout for faster delivery. All orders are processed and ship within 1–2 business days.

You will receive a tracking number by email the moment your order leaves our warehouse.

Yes, always. Every single order ships in plain, unmarked outer packaging. There are no logos, no brand names, and no indication of what’s inside. The sender name on the shipping label is completely neutral.

Currently we ship within the United States only. We are working on expanding to international shipping in the future. Sign up for our email list to be notified when international shipping becomes available.

If your tracking shows “delivered” but nothing has arrived, please:

  • Check around all entry points — with neighbours, in mailroom (apartments), or at a safe place the carrier may have left it
  • Wait 24 hours — carriers sometimes mark packages as delivered slightly early

Returns & Refunds

We offer 30-day returns on unused items in their original condition. To start a return, email support@honeycombbongs.com with your order number and reason. We will respond within 1–2 business days with return instructions.

For damaged or defective items, we replace or refund in full — see our full Returns & Refunds Policy for complete details.

Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we process refunds within 3–5 business days. The refund is issued to your original payment method. Depending on your bank or card provider, it may take an additional 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.

For hygiene and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns on items that have been used, smoked from, or show any signs of use. Items must be in their original, unsmoked condition to be eligible for return.

Exception: If a used item is defective or shows a manufacturing fault, contact us and we will review on a case-by-case basis.

Defective or damaged items: We cover all return shipping costs — no charge to you.

Change of mind returns: The customer is responsible for return shipping costs. We recommend using a tracked shipping method. We are not responsible for items lost during return transit.

Yes. The easiest way to exchange is to return your item for a full refund and place a new order for the piece you want. This ensures you get the new item as quickly as possible without waiting for an exchange process.

Cleaning & Maintenance

The most effective method:

  • Fill the bong with 90%+ isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt
  • Cover all openings (mouthpiece and stem hole) with your hands or plugs
  • Shake firmly for 60 seconds — the salt acts as a gentle abrasive
  • Pour out the solution and rinse thoroughly with warm water
  • Repeat if needed for heavy buildup
💡 For very gunky honeycomb discs, soak in isopropyl alcohol for 30–60 minutes before shaking to loosen stubborn residue.

Water: Change the water after every session. Stale bong water is the fastest way to ruin the flavour of your smoke and breed bacteria.

Quick rinse: Rinse with warm water every 1–2 days if you smoke daily.

Full clean: Use isopropyl alcohol and salt weekly for daily smokers, or whenever you notice visible residue on the honeycomb disc or glass walls.

Regular tap water works perfectly fine for most smokers. For the cleanest flavour, filtered or bottled water removes chlorine and minerals that can affect taste.

Some smokers also use warm water in winter for a smoother hit, or cold water in summer for extra cooling. All are completely fine to use.

Clogged honeycomb holes are the most common maintenance issue. Here’s how to fix it:

  • Submerge the disc in 90%+ isopropyl alcohol and let it soak for 1–2 hours
  • Shake vigorously with coarse salt
  • For stubborn clogs, use a pipe cleaner or cotton swab dipped in alcohol to manually clear individual holes
  • Rinse thoroughly with hot water

The best prevention is cleaning regularly and changing your water after every session — this stops resin from building up in the first place.

Using Your Bong

Fill the bong with enough water to submerge the honeycomb disc by about half an inch (1–1.5cm). Too little and the percolator won’t function properly. Too much and water can reach your mouth.

Start with a small amount, take a gentle test draw without lighting, and adjust up or down until the resistance feels comfortable and smooth.

  • 1. Fill with water — enough to cover the honeycomb disc by ~1cm
  • 2. Pack the bowl — grind your herb and pack it loosely in the bowl piece
  • 3. Cover the carb — if your bong has a carb hole, cover it with your thumb
  • 4. Light and inhale slowly — apply flame to the edge of the bowl while drawing gently through the mouthpiece
  • 5. Release the carb (or pull the bowl) — this lets fresh air in to clear the chamber
  • 6. Inhale the cleared smoke

Difficult draws are usually caused by one of three things:

  • Too much water — reduce the water level so there is just ~1cm above the honeycomb disc
  • Clogged honeycomb disc — resin buildup in the holes restricts airflow. Clean with isopropyl alcohol and salt
  • Overpacked bowl — too much herb packed too tightly blocks airflow. Pack more loosely

Getting water in your mouth (called “splash back”) means there is too much water in the bong. Pour some out until the water level is about 1cm above the honeycomb disc.

If you have a turbine percolator or splash guard above the honeycomb, this is specifically designed to prevent splash back. If splash back persists, simply lower the water level.
